About the property

Situated on a hill, this lovely house offers guests a wide view of the green and wooded surrounding hills. Although recently built it keeps the Tuscan rustic style intact. The house is simply furnished, but equipped with all the comforts to enjoy a holiday with all the comforts in close contact with nature. The house is surrounded by a beautiful well-kept garden equipped for outdoor lunches and dinners and with a swimming pool for the exclusive use of guests (12.00 mx 6.00 m. Depth 1.50 m. Access with steps). It should be noted that although animals are allowed, the property is not fenced and there are sheepdogs working in the surrounding area.

This area is known for its geothermal steam jets and boric-acid fumaroles and you can see the external pipes carrying the geothermal steam. A local restaurant is within a ten minute walk whilst a wider selection of amenities are within a fifteen minute drive in the nearby villages.

Pomarance - lies between Volterra and Massa Marittima and near to the green hills forming the river Cecina valley.

The historic centre of Pomarance is worth a visit with its parish Church, home to paintings by Cristofano Roncalli and Nicolò Cercignani, the town square (la piazza della Pretura) and the beautiful 19th century buildings on Via Roncalli (Roncalli Street), amongst which you will find the stunning ‘Casa Bicocchi’, a 19th century villa.

The area offers a great variety of attractions from the ancient, medieval hamlets built into the hillsides such as Micciano, Libbiano, Montegemoli, Serrazzano, Lustignano, San Dalmazio to the ruins of the Norman-Romanesque Church and the Fortress of Sillano; this land is also known for its geothermal steam jets and boric-acid fumaroles. The area combines a rich history with an interesting natural environment. For those interested in local traditions, the Palio delle Contrade (second Sunday in September) is not to be missed and the museum of Geothermal Energy is worth a visit by those interested in this field. Nearest cities: Volterra 22 km, San Gimignano 55 km, Siena 68 km, Pisa 77 km.
